The September 2006 ilug-cal meeting was help at ilug-cal office on Monday, September 11. Below are the items discussed and decisions taken.
1. ilug-cal.org and ilug-cal.info
To get the ilug-cal.org pointed to the current web-host, J. P. Mathew (JPM) called up Indranil Das Gupta (IDG), but IDG replied that he no longer has access to the '

' account, and he doesn't remember the password for the account in Network Solutions. So, he cannot change the Name Server for the ilug-cal.org domain.
To change the Registrant Email at Network Solutions, IDG has to send them a statement on Rs. 20 Stamp Paper, with a declaration that he was the owner of '

' account. But, before this is done '

' will forward all the emails to the admins. Also, IDG should make a declaration that '

' will be the new registrant of the domain.
My personal comment on this (sorry, for including it here; but I feel it is necessary), and I want Arup, IDG to consider this: ,---- | No problem if IDG doesn't have the access to '

' | account, he should still have access to | PNS.FLORA.CA | SNS.FLORA.CA | as Russel is his very good friend, and he can always edit the entries to point | to the IP address, 203.200.180.138. This will ensure that the current | website, can become www.ilug-cal.org. If there, are any problems doing so, | then please explain. | No, need to change the MX entries. `----
2. Admin Team The website admin team has been reduced to 3 members:
Nirmalya Lahiri Arijit Majumder Anirban Biswas
3. CMT/Editors
This was the item which was discussed for the longest time, finally it was decided that we will continue to have a Joomla + Wiki based site, but the Wiki will be moved to a subdomain "wiki.ilug-cal.org"
Registered members can submit articles to both, and all such articles will be immediately published and there is *no red tape*. The benefit of Wiki is that articles can be enhanced/maintained/improved by the community, where as articles in Joomla can be only edited by the authors. The admins will also add the facility to comment on articles.
There are *no* editors or CMT team.
But, in case there are adverse comments on an article by any member, the article will be hidden from *general public* by the admins, until this dispute is resolved, if necessary then there can be a poll on the article.
4. Website content, copyright etc.
The author holds all copyright, and is responsible for the content. Ilug-cal has no liability on the content of articles.
5. Registration
There will be a meeting on Saturday, 16th September 2006 at Arijit Majumder's house, where Mr. Bhar (a very active member of Lion's Club) will come and advise us on how to register. Also, it is important to prepare and submit a good constitution, otherwise the Government offices will sit on it for months without complaining or doing anything. So, please do review it.
The constitution can be found here: http://www.ilug-cal.info/components/com_mambowiki/index.php/Draft_Constitution
6. Corpus Fund Many members contributed Rs. 100 (which is also the admission fee) towards the corpus fund. This will be used for expenses towards registration or any other thing as necessary. A. Mani is the current treasurer.
7. Linux in School Project The members decided to help a school which lacks resources, and will take Mr. Bhar's help in finding a suitable school. Once that is done JPM and other people have agreed, to take the initiative in finding funds necessary for providing the school with computing resources, also members have shown interest in visiting such schools and helping the teachers and students over there.
The meeting was attended by the following people,
1. A. Mani 2. J. P. Mathew 3. Debajyoti Mullick 4. Surendra Singhi 5. Soumyanath Chatterjee 6. Arijit Majumder 7. Anirban Biswas 8. Nirmalya Lahiri 9. Soumyadip Modak
