Session-1:

JPM lectured on basic aspects of Erlang and its application to concurrent and parallel programming. Erlang is a functional programming language with nice features for making simultaneous use of multiple CPU cores. The language itself may be seen as an extension of PROLOG.

Applications developed in Erlang were also discussed. The slides used in the presentation will be available soon.

Session-2:

Snehasis demonstrated an application of RabbitMQ. RabbitMQ is a killer FOSS enterprise messaging application developed in Erlang.

Session-3:

It was decided that a 5-hour conference/ seminar would be held on Software Freedom Day. We have also decided to collaborate with CSI on the event. A. Mani will be finalising the plans in consultation with others. Most possibly we may have two advocacy sessions and three technical sessions on the day. If enough people show interest, then we may hold an InstallFest as well. Our team page needs to be updated.

Other Discussions:

Various other topics including Fedora Testing, Testing Environments and Possible Custom Courses for particular enterprises were also discussed. Prashant showed interest in conducting a workshop in software testing. The interest level of members show that these can all be subject to finalisation of plans.

In all a successful meeting with thanks due to all participants.
